Felicity Morgan - The main character, also known as Fliss. She begins having paranormal nightmares and as soon as the school arrived at Whitby she knew there was something wrong. Felicity is intelligent, mature, witty and would do anything for her friends.
Ellie May Sunderland - Known as the girl who was possessed by the beast in Room 13. She seems full of herself, suggesting to the audience that she is very rich, but at the end of the story the text hints that her snobby personality is changing for the better.
Lisa Watmough - Felicity's best friend. A loud boisterous girl who always gets into trouble with her teachers. She helps Fliss discover and kill the vampire lurking in Room 13.
David Trotter - A loudmouthed boy who eventually helps Fliss defeat the vampire.
Mr Hepworth - A teacher with a gift for bad jokes who generally has more hair on his eyebrows than his bare head!
Mrs Marriott - A teacher who will not stand for mischief and is excellent at dishing out harsh orders.
Sally Haggerlythe - An elderly women who is widely believed to be insane. She is, however, a helpful hand teaching Fliss the story of Dracula and finally convinces her that he must be killed at once.
